Frequently Asked Questions

Looking after your feet isn’t just about comfort – it’s about health, mobility and confidence.

What’s the difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist?

They’re the same profession. “Chiropodist” is the traditional UK term; “Podiatrist” is the modern title. Heather is fully qualified under both.

Why are feet a barometer of health?

Changes can signal diabetes, circulation issues or arthritis. Podiatrists are trained to spot early warning signs.

When should I see a podiatrist?

Pain, corns, ingrown nails, fungal infections, or changes in colour/shape are all reasons to book. No GP referral needed.

How does diabetes affect the feet?

Diabetes can reduce circulation and sensation, so small injuries can escalate. Regular diabetic checks help keep you safe.

How is the equipment sterilised?

All instruments are processed using strict, medical-grade sterilisation procedures.

Can podiatry improve how my feet look?

Yes. From cracked heels to fungal nails, treatment improves comfort and appearance — often with visible results after one session.

My feet ache all the time. Can you help?

Persistent pain isn’t normal. We assess causes (footwear, posture or medical issues) and provide targeted solutions.

I’m embarrassed about my feet.

No judgement — ever. Most people are amazed by the difference even a single appointment makes.

Do you treat children’s foot problems?

Yes — flat feet, ingrown toenails and verrucae are treated safely and appropriately for younger patients.

Can you help with sports or running injuries?

Absolutely — from blisters to stress injuries, assessment and treatment aims to get you back on your feet.

Cancellation Policy

Mobile Podiatry operates a cancellation policy, our policy is similar to many other health provider services and we kindly ask all service users to adhere to it.

If you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment we simply ask you to give a minimum of 24 hours notice for our appointments. Requests made within a 12-24-hour window of your appointment are subject to 50% charge of your consultation fee.

If this minimum is not adhered to, we reserve the right to charge the full treatment cost of the appointment.

We are aware that from time to time circumstances dictate that an appointment will be missed or less than the 24 hours notice will be given. On such occasions we can be lenient but frequent missed appointments can be very disruptive to the smooth running of our derive and can also be inconvenient to other patients that require an appointment slot.

Following two no shows or short notice cancellations, we reserve the right to refuse appointments.
